Swimming pool thermometers

While some people do not really care what temperature the pool is most prefer to know how warm or cold the water is before they get in. It is simple enough to get a thermometer and find out, but there may be more choices then you know about.

Analog thermometers are separated, for the most part, into two categories: Hanging and Floating. I always preferred hanging, as they give a temperature reading from several inches (or feet, if you so please) below the surface, instead of just at the surface, where the water is typically warmer. Floating thermometers can be fun and decorative, in the shape of a duck, or an alligator, or what have you.

The other major type is digital. These work quickly and are very accurate, but may not be as durable as analog thermometers.
